Nestlé has purchased a third Otor Systems case erector from Genting Sanyen, Otor's licensee in Malaysia, for its Chembong production plant, 100 km south of Kuala Lumpur.
The Flash 160 erect 2-piece packaging designed to take non load-bearing products such as packets of Milo instant chocolate drink mix. The erection rate is 20 cases/min for 220 and 200 g packets.
Otor 8 Display packaging has the advantage of fulfilling two functions: transport and display of products. Thirty percent lighter than the slotted box used previously, the Otor 8 Display has higher compressive strenght even under extreme weather conditions (monsoon twice a year). Also, the centring lugs ensure load stability during transport and loading and unloading operations.
Only 3 seconds and no tools are needed to make the display. You simply lift off the lid after pushing back the sides of the base to obtain a display tray in which the products are arranged vertically.
The new packaging meets the expectations of the purchasing department (more economical), the production department (better productivity and much lower waste rate) and the marketing department (very satisfactory customer impact). Nestlé received MalaysiaStar Packaging Awards from the FMM Packaging Council of Malaysia for all these different innovations.
